Small Group Tours
These small-group tours run daily for cruise passengers and independent travellers. Groups can have up to 18 passengers, shared with others on cruise days, while non-cruise days feature much smaller groups. Departures are from Port Chalmers Cruise Terminal for ship guests and the Octagon (outside Dunedin Visitor Centre) for others.
Dunedin, Olveston & Castle Gardens
(approx. 6 hours) NZD290
If you love history and heritage, this tour is perfect for you. Explore Dunedin city, enjoy a 1-hour guided tour of the historic Olveston House—where every piece inside is original—and take in the breathtaking Otago Peninsula scenery. There’s also free time to explore the castle gardens (note: castle interior entry is not included).
Combine Dunedin highlights and spectacular peninsula scenery with a 1.5-hour guided conservation tour focused on endangered yellow-eyed penguins.
This is one of Dunedin’s most popular tours, running in the evening to watch the little blue penguins return after sunset — the best time to see them at their most active. Please note, this evening tour is not suitable for cruise ship passengers unless your ship is staying overnight in Dunedin.
Dunedin & Otago Peninsula Scenery
(approx. 6 hours) NZD240
This tour offers a glimpse of Dunedin city and Otago Peninsula scenery without joining a wildlife-guided tour, allowing free time at the Albatross Centre—where you may spot albatross gliding on windy days. A separate option includes a fully guided albatross tour.
